2020 S/S Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

It's the end of the 2020 Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. So much wonderful inspiration, super sponsors and prizes. Kudos to the organizers and the community they have built!

Today I received this Quietfire Design stamp set for the tea lovers (this blog hop is ecumenical - all caffeine is celebrated!). The entire card (background and stamped images) was made with Distress Oxide Inks.

Second Card for Massive Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

While I had all the supplies out from yesterday's card, I decided to make a second one - this time with a tea theme. I added a little checkerboard stencilling. This is a large format card - 5.5 X 8.5 inches. I needed to go big to fit all the stamps in!

Irresistable Kraft Paper

How many of you have a pad of Tim Holtz Idea-ology Paper Stash Kraft Resist paper and have never done anything with it? I suspect there are quite a few as a Google search for images using this paper comes up pretty lean. Here is the pad I own:

I used a sheet of the ledger style paper to create my own feature sheet of paper for a coffee and tea themed card. The paper has numbers and lines that resist inks, providing a bit of a ghostly effect that I found impossible to capture in a photo.

I used Distress Stains and Distress Inks to colour swaths of the paper in a vertical fashion. I overstamped with a lot of stamps in the theme (I have quite a collection). Most of the stamps are from Oxford Impressions and Stampington & Company. I used a Stampington leaf stamp, embossing in gold, to provide another layer of interest to the card. 

Four brads and a navy border were all it seemed to want to finish this 9 X 4 inch card. It's a thank you card for a man, so I resisted (ha!) the urge to pretty it up. I have plenty of this customized paper left over to make a few other cards, and looked forward to working with the other sheets in the pack.

For Claire

There's a wee mouse in Ireland who is struggling a bit with some trials at the moment. Claire Brennan is the purveyor of all good things at Waltzingmouse Stamps and it seems her manufacturer has let her down this weekend on the shipment of goods for her August release.

These things happen. That's life. But Claire is devoted to her customers and feels badly about letting them down. And in turn, we feel badly for her.

Nerina said it best on her blog, which asks us to post a card for sweet Claire to boost her spirits and let her know we understand.

Here's my card. I think it is appropriate for the occasion, and for Claire, who has remained lovely in the face of adversity. And let's not forget, people, it's just stamps!! They will be released soon, and in the meantime, we can pull out some oldies, but goodies, like these stamps from Afternoon Tea and Ovals - Classic Frames.
