Christening Cards

My daughter needed a pair of Christening Cards for a 2.5 year old girl (Isla-Rose) and her 5 year old brother (Connor), both being christened this weekend. A quick search on Pinterest and Google leads me to believe that christenings typically take place when the child is still wearing baby booties, so I had to use my noggin. I decided the cards would be for the kids instead of the parents, and made interactive shaker cards that someone that age would enjoy.

I wanted these personalized so I colour-printed onto ink jet acetate the name and date. The cross stamp is a bargain bin stamp from Michaels that I clear embossed. The pennants were cut on my Silhouette Cameo.
While pretty much the same, I did try to coordinate the beads and sequins in each with the colour scheme.
The acetate seemed to create a shadow in the white card stock beneath so it was tough to get a good photo of these. The base is actually plain. Both have the date on there, too. I hope they liked them!

Happy Father's Day!

Here's a quick card. I had the watercolour paper leftover from another project. The stamps are Waltzingmouse and the clouds are Memory Box Dies. Tim Holtz Sizzix Embossing Folder for a background.
My daughter and her dad have automobiles in common. He washes them, changes the oil and checks the tire pressure; she drives them! Thought it was a good theme for today.

Graduation Card

Here's a graduation card using an old (c. 2003) stamp set from Stampin' Up! All the images were stamped in Kaleidocolor Blue Breeze and I sponged Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink around the edges. I stamped the stars and confetti in Versamark and heat embossed with Silver Tinsel embossing powder.

Recently Michael's locally started carrying the 110 pound Recollections cardstock that is so much better for card bases. I was avoiding these top fold cards before due to the flimsy 65 pound cardstock I usually use. Got packs in white and black so I am a happy camper. Thanks for looking!

Coffee Lovers Summer Blog Hop

The Coffee Lovers Summer Blog Hop is underway right now. I love coffee, but I seem to be stamp-challenged on the subject. Thankfully this is an ecumenical blog hop - they'll take coffee, tea or cocoa themed entries!
They also need to be seasonally appropriate for SUMMER, so that really got me challenged. Then I remembered a pad of scrapbook paper from graphic 45, Botanical Tea, and it's summery feel. Voila! Just a little Copic marker work on the tea pot and stamped an Oxford Impressions tea-drinker vintage image and I am done.

Be sure to head over to the blog to see all the amazing entries. And if you're inspired, link up something new while you're at it. You have until June 12!
